Here is a vintage 1970s de Sede lounge chair with ottoman in thick and soft brown leather. This line of seating was designed by Robert and Trix Haussmann and included low, mid, and high back chairs and sofas. This is the high-back version, which includes a removable pillow/headrest.
The leather used for this set is absolutely gorgeous. This was ordered from De Sede with very thick neck leather, which is 5-7mm in thickness, and is so smooth and soft to the touch. The pure aniline-dyed leather has beautiful, natural patina. The original Guarantee and Care pamphlet are included, along with the delivery slip, dated 1979.
There is some normal wear present including marks, scratches, color variation, etc. Some color loss is present at the end of the arms and the center of the seat cushion. There are two linear rub marks on the front of the right-side arm section, and a circular rub mark on the side of the right-side arm section (please see detailed pics of these areas). The leather has beautiful patina, and will continue to patina with age and use. This is a heavy, well-built, and very high-quality set. The chair and ottoman are clean, and free of any tears, rips, repairs, etc.
The chair measures approximately 35.5” Wide x 39” Deep x 35.25” Tall. The seat height is approximately 14.5”. The ottoman measures 23.25” Wide x 17.25” Deep x 14.5” Tall.
