Here is a very elegant rosewood bar cabinet produced by Wirserums Nya Möbelfabrik in Hultarp, Sweden, circa 1950s-60s. This cabinet has a mirrored interior and a light that turns on when the doors are opened.
This cupboard sits tall on long rosewood legs. It has a classic, Scandinavian-minimalist design, and the quality construction is crisp and precise. Both the lower drawer and the upper doors lock using the same key. The rosewood interior has mirrored rear and bottom panels. The clear glass shelf is adjustable. The space is illuminated by a light that is switched on and off as the doors open and close.
It measures 25-5/8” Wide x 13-5/8” Deep x 51-1/4” Tall.
This cabinet is in very good condition. The doors and drawer move smoothly, and the locks are tight and function perfectly. The rosewood veneer is very attractive throughout, and the finish is excellent everywhere. The light and light switch work perfectly. As with any vintage piece, there will be some minor signs of age and use present. On the top there are two very small raised spots (very minor, please see pics), and on one side of the cabinet there is some color variation of the rosewood where the lower portion is a bit darker (probably from less exposure to light). Neither of these are significant issues in my opinion, and overall this is a very beautiful and excellently crafted bar cabinet that is ready to use in any collection.
Although faint, the original maker’s mark is present on the back, along with “No. 50” (presumably the model number).
