This is a freestanding Danish teak cocktail bar designed by Johannes Andersen for J. Skaaning & Søn, circa 1960's. Very unique design with circular teak inlays front and rear, flip-up bar top, mirrors and floating glass shelves, pull-out serving tray, and lots of bottle storage.
Attractive front with nice teak graining and brass foot rest. On the business side, the upper drop-down cabinet door reveals a mirror-backed working area with two floating glass shelves, black glass surface, and nine sunken bottle holders. The cabinet door and the flip-up bar serving table have "drink-friendly" white laminate surfaces.
Just under the upper cabinet is a three-compartment storage area with sliding door. The center compartment contains a teak shelf and removable teak serving tray with nice finger joints.
The lower fold-out cabinet door allows access to another nine-bottle storage area.
This mid-century bar cabinet is in very good unrestored condition. There are several minor scratches and flaws here and there as would be expected. There is a small chip at the very bottom of the lower door, and two little chips in one of the glass floating shelves (please see pictures of these areas). Overall this piece is very very nice and ready to show-off and enjoy.
It measures 45.25" Wide x 16" Deep x 44" Tall. Has original Danish Control label.
