This is an original "Heart" or "Hjertestolen" dining set by Hans J. Wegner for Fritz Hansen, designed in 1952.
This rare set has had only one owner, who purchased it new in 1956. It features 6 triangular or "heart" shaped chairs with solid beech frames and teak seats, and a circular dining table with teak top and beech frame. The three-legged design allows the six lightweight chairs to tuck tightly under the roughly 4' diameter table, giving no wasted space.
Each chair bears the Fritz Hansen "FH Danmark" stamp on the bottom. The table has the Fritz Hansen Danish flag decal on the bottom.
The table and chairs are in good vintage condition. All are tight and sturdy. There are some small flaws as should be expected from an unrestored set like this, but no major or significant issues. There are small scratches and dings in the chair legs and backs and other little marks here and there. The table top is very nice and scratch free.
The table measures 47" in Diameter x 27.75" Tall.
Each chair measures 20.5" Wide x 18" Deep x 28.75" Tall. The seat height is 17".
Free shipping in the U.S. is included in this price. International shipping is available, please contact us for a quote. If you are local or would like to arrange your own transport, please contact me for a discounted price.
