Here is a set of six rosewood and leather dining chairs by Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik, circa 1960s. These Danish Modern highback chairs have frames in solid rosewood, and the original rust-red leather seats.
The color and grain of the rosewood are nicely varied throughout, and the wood is very attractive. The color of the original leather is unusual and works wonderfully. The thin chair frames give this set a visually delicate feel, yet the construction is of high quality. The sculpted back supports are curved and flat on the front, and the chairs are comfortable to sit in.
This set is in excellent condition. The rosewood frames have a very nice finish. All the frames are tight. There are no tears in the leather, and the foam is soft. There are some normal signs of age and use present including minor nicks, marks, or dings in the wood. The leather has some wear including small marks, scrapes, and discoloration. Please see pictures for condition. Overall these chairs are in excellent condition with no significant issues.
Each chair measures approximately 18.25” Wide x 21” Deep x 39.25” Tall. Seat height is 18”.
