Here is a pair of teak armchairs designed by Finn Juhl for France and Søn. Made in Denmark, circa 1960s. These chairs feature sculpted teak arms and floating seats with newer upholstery in Hallingdal wool fabric.

The seats attach to the frames with brass rods at the top and sit on black wooden spacers at the bottom, separating the upholstered and wooden elements in typical Finn Juhl fashion. There is an interesting design change apparent with this set. One chair was manufactured in 1962 and the other in 1964, and the backrest on one chair mounts to the top of the seat cushion, while the other mounts behind the seat cushion.

Overall these chairs are in good vintage condition. Nice finish on the teak frames. Recent upholstery in Hallingdal wool fabric. The frames do have some flaws and signs of age and use. There are some marks, scratches, and nicks in the wood. There has been a repair to the bottom of one arm where the rear leg attaches, although this is not very noticeable. Both chairs have the original France and Son medallions. Overall these chairs have a few normal flaws, but are tight and comfortable, and show very well.

Each chair measures approximately 27.25” Wide x 28” Deep x 30” Tall. The seat height is approximately 15”-15.5”.
