These chairs are - SOLD

Here is a pair of Danish teak armchairs by Ole Wanscher for France and Søn. This set of “Senator” / No. 116 model lounge chairs was produced in Denmark in the 1960s.

The frames are solid teak with sculptural swooping arms, and have been recently refinished. The loose cushions contain the original internal springs and have brand new foam. New upholstery was just completed in the original color using Hallingdal wool fabric designed by Nanna Ditzel (Colorway: 960 Green). The chairs also received new rubber straps and upholstery on the lower support panels. These chairs have a beautiful design, and are also very comfortable.

Each chair measures 26.75” Wide x 29” Deep x 32” Tall. The seat height is 17”.

These chairs are in excellent condition. The teak frames have been recently refinished, but they are vintage and some small marks and dings are present. New upholstery was just completed with new foam in the cushions, new fabric, and new rubber straps. Under the cushions on both chairs there are shallow grooves worn into the wood on the top of the front support from where the cushion’s internal springs contacted the frame when the original foam became thin (see pics). These marks are not visible with the cushions in place. Both chairs have the France and Son badges.

Free shipping in the Continental U.S. is included in this price. International shipping is available, please contact us for a quote. If you are local or would like to arrange your own transport, please contact me for a discounted price.
