Here is a Danish rosewood bar by Peter Løvig-Nielsen for Hedensted Møbelfabrik, circa 1960s. This uncommon model features six drawers, a fold-down work surface, and a mirrored and lighted interior. It is finished on all sides so could be displayed floating in a room.
There is plenty of storage available with this piece. The front folds down and can be used as a desk or work surface. Inside is divided into two spaces, each with a light shining down. The rear panel is mirrored, and there is a glass shelf on the larger right side. Below are six drawers with rosewoods pulls matching the top. The upper left and right drawers have green felt liners and both are locking (key is included).
This unit measures 47.25” Wide X 43.75” Tall. The lower portion is 17.75” Deep. With the door opened it is 27.5” Deep. The work surface height is 28.5”.
This piece is in excellent condition. Really nice rosewood grain inside and out, and the finish is excellent. The door and drawers move smoothly. Both locks function the key is included. The green felt drawer liners are clean and stain free. The lights are working and the wiring is in good condition (it should be noted that the lights are not on a switch currently, so one should be added if not plugged into a switched outlet). The mirror and glass shelf are nice and free of significant scratches. This piece does have a few minor signs of age and use including light scratches and marks, small nicks in the legs, etc. On the inside of the work top there are some marks and indentations from use (see pics) mostly along the edge, but these are not deep or scratched through. Overall this piece is in excellent condition with only minor wear.
The original maker’s mark is present on the bottom.
