Here is the France and Son Model 118 in teak by designer Grete Jalk. This 1950s/60s Danish lounge chair is refinished and has brand new upholstery.
The frame is solid teak, and was recently refinished. The loose cushions are original with the original metal springs inside, and have been rebuilt with all new foam. This was a purple chair originally, so new fabric close to the original color was chosen for the cushions. We had a new wooden platform constructed for the support straps under the seat. Note that originally this chair would have had metal looped springs under the cushion, but the new platform was made to use period-appropriate rubber Fagas straps, which are also brand new.
The chair measures approximately 28.5” Wide x 29.5” Deep x 33.5” Tall. The seat height is approximately 18”.
The original France and Son medallion is present in the frame. There is also a France and Daverkosen “FD” brand present in the side rail, suggesting that this was an early construction (France and Daverkosen became France and Son in 1957).
Free shipping in the Continental U.S. is included in this price. International shipping is available, please contact us for a quote. If you are local or would like to arrange your own transport, please contact me for a discounted price.
